How do braces feel?
At first, it's terrible, but actually, it doesn't feel that bad. It feels a little rough, that's all. I don't really mind them.
Do braces hurt?
When you get them installed, yes, they hurt. They hurt a lot!
The brackets ripped my cheeck open, and I wasn't able to eat solid food for ten days!
And then, miraculously, I could eat again! The pain was gone, and I felt really good! They don't bother me anymore :)
Some people say it hurts a lot after you get your braces adjusted, but personally I didn't feel one bit of pain. I just feel more pressure, but I would certainly not describe it as pain, more as a... nice feeling :) I guess I'm weird
What color ligature is best?
One piece of advice: don't take clear ligatures! I mean it! After a week they won't be nice and clear anymore, no, they will be a fluorescent color green. (ofcourse, if you like fluorescent green, be my guest!).
I chose pink on my first adjustment, and I must say, I really like that color! It makes my teeth look whiter, and it's less dull than gray or something...
I was thinking about getting light-blue ligatures too, but the people on the Metal Mouth Forum told me not to, because they make your teeth look more yellowish...
What's the worst part of getting your braces fitted?
Hmmm, I'd go with fitting the molarbands... that's not a very comfortable experience, but the rest is a piece of cake... really :)
